BUDOSAI DATES ARE LOCKED IN!

JULY 23 – 27, 2024 – OKINAWA, JAPAN

IOGKF International is very pleased to announce that the IOGKF 9th World Budosai will take place in Naha, Okinawa, Japan from July 23-27, 2024. This is the largest event that IOGKF International hosts and the Budosai only comes around every 4-5 years. Due to the Pandemic, this is the first World Budosai in 5 years and is set to be a massive event for IOGKF. Below is basic information about the event to help you and your family plan your trip to the Karate island of Okinawa.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

July 23 (Karate Kaikan) – Registration for all Budosai participants & Country Chief Instructors meeting.

July 24 (Okinawa Budokan) – Training for all Budosai participants: 10:00-14:00hrs

July 25 (Okinawa Budokan) – Training for all Budosai participants: 10:00-14:00hrs

July 26 (Okinawa Budokan) – Training for all Budosai participants: 10:00-14:00hrs

July 27 (Okinawa Budokan) – Training for all Budosai participants: 10:00-13:00hrs & IOGKF Demonstrations 13:00-14:00.

*Chief Instructors dinner will be either July 23 or 24. Black Belt grading will be either July 25 or 26. Sayonara Party will be on July 27 from 19:00-22:00hrs (location TBA).

There is a childrens only Gasshuku also running as part of this event.

BUDOSAI INSTRUCTORS

Some of the best IOGKF instructors in the world have been sourced from all corners of the globe to make this event truly International. There are several instructors who will be teaching at the World Budosai for the first time. The Budosai instructors will be:

Registration will take place online and will open sometime in March 2024 via this website: www.iogkf.com

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PLANING YOUR TRIP

  • Contact your Sensei and inform them that you would like to attend the World Budosai.
  • If possible, see if other people from your Dojo are attending and consider travelling as a group.
  • Arrive a few days early to acclimatize to the weather and adjust to the time difference.
  • Book your accommodation near Kokusai Street, the main area of Naha in Okinawa.
  • Stay an extra few days for sightseeing of the main island (Okinawa) and for trips to the smaller islands (Zamami and Tokashiki).
  • Visit mainland Japan – Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and more.
