Welcome back to the IOGKF International Newsletter and to our second issue. This issue has proven to be one of ‘first’s’ in IOGKF International Newsletter history.

Editors Announcements:

Newsletter in 2012:

Over the past 3 years my team and I have worked very hard to build the newsletter to its current state – its most popular and most Internationally appealing since its creation. To maintain this high quality and keep the newsletters great reputation we rely greatly on the worthy contributions of our members worldwide. Over the past two editions I have noticed we are not receiving as many feature articles, etc as when we first began, as was expected when the newsletter was first brought back into circulation. To counteract this and after discussing with newsletter webmaster, Sensei Helmut Leitner, I have decided that as of next year, we will only be releasing three editions of the newsletter. This will help to stop the spreading thin of our regular writers and build up the number of articles we receive from new writers. It will also give my team and I to put even more effort into each edition.

NB: The Newsletter system will stay the same for 2011. There will be both September and December Editions.

Yearly Newsletter Plan from 2012

This edition will be mainly focused on previewing the European Gasshuku or World Budosai, depending on the year. At the moment we are previewing these events only 3 weeks before their happening. Therefore releasing this edition in April will give a good two months to help create bigger numbers and a more organised promotion for these large scale events.

Generally this midyear edition is aimed at reporting to the World on the happenings of IOGKF International’s largest event for the year. Usually this is reported on in September, some 8 – 10 weeks after the event. Releasing an edition in August will give us a chance to cover these events while the hype about them is still happening and hopefully we can prolong it. We are looking at it as a boost to the moral of our members worldwide.

As per usual the newsletter will give Higaonna Sensei and senior instructors the chance to address our members on the end of one year and the beginning of the next. It give us the chance to do our popular ‘year in review’ article as well as taking a look at what lies ahead for the IOGKF.

Generally this will be a much better system for the newsletter and will give us the time to invite more senior instructors to write for the newsletter, as well as allowing the correct period for the production of items like the Goju-ryu Masters Comic book Series.

As I mentioned we rely heavily upon the contributions of our members. If you would like to submit an article or even if you would like to run an idea for an article or series by me, please feel free to do so. I can be contact directly via email – lambert@goulburnkarate.com

The deadline for the September 2011 IOGKF International Newsletter will be: September 23, 2011.

My Best Regards to all,

David Lambert
